A Note from Ernie - July 2019

Ernest Wooden Jr.

Dear Friends,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. The Los Angeles Tourism team is hard at work placing the final touches on the 7th annual Los Angeles Market Outlook Forum, which will take place at the J.W. Marriott L.A. LIVE on August 20, 2019. Market Outlook Forum is complementary and exclusive to our members; be sure to check your inboxes to register as space is limited.

As today’s tourism landscape becomes increasingly competitive, identifying and understanding the profile of your potential customers is vital for success. Our annual strategic forecasting conference will help you capitalize on L.A.’s thriving tourism industry and prepare you to welcome future L.A. visitors.

You’ll be the first to receive L.A. Tourism’s proprietary 2019 Marketing and Planning Resource, curated to shape your marketing strategy and budget development. It provides a comprehensive collection of local tourism data, economic indicators, lodging statistics, visitor profiles, forecasts and air market data. Its content is derived from several unbiased sources including government agencies, economic research firms and tourism & hospitality experts.

On the TOT front, travelers continue to generate significant revenue for the City of Los Angeles as collections for May 2019 totaled $27.7 million. This brings our fiscal year total to $291.9 million, a 7.0% increase compared to the same time last year.

These are just a few of the many updates from Los Angeles Tourism that we’re sharing with you in July’s newsletter. As always, we will continue to work on behalf of our members and partners to bring the world to Los Angeles.

Best wishes,

Ernest Wooden Jr.
President and CEO
