Host Accessible, Inclusive & Innovative Meetings in LA
One of Los Angeles’ greatest strengths is its diversity of community...
So, what does that mean for you when seeking a meeting destination? It means you can host your event in a city that is accessible to all and paves the way for the future of creativity, diversity, inclusion, innovation and equity.
Initiatives Making a Mark on LA Meetings
The City of Los Angeles is proudly committed to focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the community and among employees citywide.
Diversity in LA’s workforce provides access to a rich range of talent, representing different experiences, perspectives and styles — which fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment and stronger organizations on every level.
To ensure LA Tourism is strategically working to advance DEI, members of the DEI Advisory Board discussed priorities for the future. Those priorities include proactively developing a pipeline of diverse talent and partnerships, furthering diversity goals for membership among the four subcommittees — Black & African American, LGBTQ+, Latino/Latina/Latinx and Asian American & Pacific Islander — and integrating new voices into marketing efforts.
New Programs Expanding Horizons
Earlier this fall, the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) Career Academy was launched during the Mobile World Congress and LA Auto Show at LACC and allowed high school students to engage and interact with professionals across a variety of industries. The new program aims to increase equity in career representation by inspiring the youth of historically underserved areas to consider dynamic career paths.
The LACC Career Academy is an innovative option for meeting planners looking to authentically make an impact in LA during their time here and allows customers to address DEI initiatives, combined with executing corporate social responsibility (CSR). There will be LACC Career Academy days at future citywide conventions at LACC.

Accessibility Services Across the City
Inclusive meetings are accessible meetings. Learn more with our guide to accessibility services at LAX, Metro and attractions and venues across the city.
Disability Services at LAX
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is committed to serving the disabled community and provides numerous services at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), including wheelchairs, ground transportation and more.
LAX-it to LA Meeting Hotels
As LAX ramps up work on its modernization program, LAX-it has been launched as a convenient, centralized area for travelers to order a ride service and avoid traffic in the Central Terminal Area (CTA). The new LAX-it shuttles are designed with accessibility in mind and go beyond regulatory compliance to be ADA-friendly
Metro & Meet
Metro strives to ensure that its services are fully accessible to all riders, including those with disabilities. Metro buses and rail systems can accommodate all types of wheelchairs, as well as hearing, mobility and visual aids. New Metro buses transitioning into service have been carefully designed with particular attention to accessibility features, as well.
Add Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to Your Meeting Agenda
Plan meetings that can add more purpose and value to your attendees. During your LA event, you can engage with each other and the local community. When you incorporate CSR into the meeting agenda, the LA Tourism sales team acts as the link between meeting planners who want to make a meaningful impact and a diverse group of organizations addressing the most pressing issues of our community.
Diversity Equality & Inclusion (DEI) -Minded LA Events
Super Bowl LVI 2022 at SoFi Stadium
High-profile events like the Super Bowl are an effective way to infuse substantial economic impact into the community and provide equitable opportunities for the LA region.
In 2021, the LA Super Bowl Host Committee honored and supported 56 organizations and nonprofits making a transformative impact in underserved communities across the region, along with minority, women, LGBTQ+ and veteran-owned businesses.
The Committee has been supported by ChampionLA, a private-sector initiative created by the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission that works hard to ensure that LA is selected to host events that deliver significant and equitable economic benefits, huge community engagement opportunities, and extraordinary visibility.
Abilities Expo 2022 at LACC
LA is proud to welcome attendees in person for the annual Abilities Expo at the LACC this March. The event will showcase products, tech and resources to help planners up their game and feature an all-inclusive climbing wall, a slew of adaptive sports, fun dance opportunities, info-packed workshops and more.
