Meeting Venue Inspiration: LA’s Social Spots During Super Bowl LVI

Super Bowl LVI Venue Inspiration

Anyone with an iconic sports movie quote at the ready or an admiration for a pioneering athlete knows that sports are universal. They have a place in culture, entertainment and even meetings and conventions. After all, fans are attendees. Attendees are fans. And whether it’s football, chessboxing (yes, it’s exactly how it sounds) or a convention, Los Angeles knows how to bring people closer to unique experiences better than anywhere else.

Super Bowl LVI was a perfect example.

After almost 30 years, LA welcomed back the Big Game, and SoFi Stadium – the largest indoor-outdoor stadium in the NFL – hosted more than 70,000 in attendees for the ceremonious game. While the shiny new facility may have been the most coveted location in the country on Feb. 13, 2022, venues throughout the city connected and engaged people from around the world before, during and after the event.

Take a quick look at the spaces used as Super Bowl social spots to inspire your next LA meeting or event.

Media Center LACC Radio Row

Los Angeles Convention (and Connection) Center

The Super Bowl Experience at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) was a multi-day festival that connected fans to all things Super Bowl. The immersive, live-action event featured an interactive theme park with halftime show costumes, Super Bowl rings, helmets and trophies, and other items on display. In addition, event-goers competed for prizes (and bragging rights), trained like the pros and tested their skills on the “field” throughout the Experience’s attractions. Also stationed at LACC was the media center, which included “Radio Row'' and space for every outlet to conduct interviews with all the stars of the big weekend.

Shaq at Shrine

Any event with Shaquille O’Neal’s presence can be likened to one word: BIG. Shaq’s Fun House, presented by FTX, brought a grandiose celebration of music, food and amusement to Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall. The festival included live performances by Lil Wayne, Zedd, Diplo and DJ Diesel, a Wynn Nightlife VIP experience, a Taste of Los Angeles experience with some of LA’s most renowned food and vendors, and a carnival complete with Cirque Berserk performers and an FTX Ferris Wheel right outside the theater.

Party at Hollywood Park

Less than a mile from SoFi Stadium, food and football collided for one unmatched tailgate party. The Players Tailgate – hosted by Guy Fieri at Hollywood Park Casino – brought NFL legends, celebrity chefs and entertainment personalities together for an experience that had LA written all over it. Appearances included DJ Irie, Aaron May, Todd English, Ming Tsai, Michael Voltaggio, Rashod Batemen, Charles Woodson and more. The cherry on top? Proceeds from the event were contributed to charitable partners Operation BBQ Relief and the Irie Foundation with the Food Recovery Network.
