LOS ANGELES TOURISM & FIJI AIRWAYS TEAM UP TO SHOWCASE WELLNESS TRAVEL TREND
LOS ANGELES (July 10, 2026) - Los Angeles Tourism recently partnered with Fiji Airways to roll out the red carpet for Australian lifestyle media titles, Mamamia and Boss Hunting, to experience Los Angeles as a global wellness hub, where innovation and a touch of Hollywood magic intersect.
The group travelled Business Class from Sydney aboard Fiji Airways' Airbus A350-900, which offers lie-flat seating, and the new FlyWell initiative, allowing passengers to relax as soon as the journey begins. Designed to support passenger recovery and wellbeing on long-haul flights, FlyWell incorporates a range of science-backed products and experiences including red-light therapy and wearable technology.
Upon arrival in Los Angeles feeling refreshed and camera-ready, the group stepped straight into the heart of Hollywood, walking the red carpet at the iconic El Capitan Theatre before attending a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
With more than 300 days of sunshine annually and an outdoor lifestyle embedded in the city's culture and DNA, the journalists were able to experience a range of activities including sunrise beach yoga overlooking the Pacific Ocean, hiking Runyon Canyon, bio-hacking spa treatments and visits to some of the city's most popular health-conscious dining venues.
Here are the journalist’s top 5 wellness experiences in LA
- Beachside Yoga
Mamamia said ... I'm not normally the person who wakes up at 6.00am on holiday to do a downward dog, but the Beach Yoga SoCal experience is worth the early alarm. I set up a towel on the sand next to Lifeguard Tower 26 with a view of the Santa Monica Pier to my right. As the early morning California sun glistens on the water, right on cue, actual dolphins start frolicking in the ocean in front of me. I take a big breath out and feel my entire system hit 'reset'. It's relaxing and uplifting and the perfect escape from the chaos of life and the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.
- Visit Fairmont Century Plaza
Boss Hunting said ... An afternoon at the Fairmont Century Plaza spa gets you cedarwood saunas, eucalyptus steam rooms, and a reasonable chance of rubbing shoulders with NBA players in the experiential rainforest showers. I added a biohacking session – red light, Normatec boots, anti-gravity bed – an expensive nap but sorts your jetlag!
- Hike the Hollywood Hills
Mamamia said ... Just about everyone you talk to in LA has some kind of claim to fame and our charming Bikes & Hikes LA tour guide, Michael, is no different.
When he's not doing his day job, he's working as a stunt driver (or more accurately a 'Picture Car Coordinator') for brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. As we weave our way up the track with a panoramic view of the LA skyline and the iconic white letters looming above us, he tells us about his time on set with Billie Eilish, Khloé Kardashian, Rihanna and Charlize Theron. Our hike takes us as close to the historic landmark as you're allowed, and we get the money shot.
- Stay in a hotel where wellness is part of the hotel stay
Boss Hunting said ... Staying initially at Venice V, I stepped outside, and the palm-lined stretch from Venice to Santa Monica handled the rest – runners, cyclists, volleyball, yoga all self-organizing across a wide strip of coastline. Dolphin sighting is a reasonable expectation, and a good reason to get going. From there, I moved to the SLS Beverly Hills, with its serious gym: Pelotons, Theraguns, and vitamin-infused water on tap. Strength work logged before breakfast, and without ceremony.
- Fuel your body with a smoothie from Erewhon
Boss Hunting said ... At Erewhon – a $3 billion grocery store – the smoothie menu alone runs 14 supplement categories deep. Collagen, adaptogens, functional mushrooms, peptides. You’ll leave US$35 (~AU$55) lighter but entirely convinced you made the right call.
Fiji Airways flies to Nadi from 7 local Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Cairns and the Gold Coast. They offer daily flights from Nadi to LAX’s state-of-the-art Tom Bradley International Terminal. LAX remains the most popular and convenient gateway city for Australians visiting North America.
