Read L.A. Tourism's New Mission Statement

L.A. Tourism’s Brand Task Force recently worked together to refresh the organization’s mission statement to not only reflect what we do, but why we do it. The new statement reads as follows:

"The mission of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) is to improve the quality of life for all Angelenos through the economic and community benefits of tourism. Representing over 1,000 local tourism-related businesses, Los Angeles Tourism is a non-profit organization responsible for promoting the City of Angels as one of the world’s premier travel destinations. Through its global brand marketing and sales efforts, Los Angeles Tourism works to inspire visitors to immerse themselves in the kinds of unscripted moments and meaningful experiences that can only happen in L.A."

Sales Team Visits Pacific Northwest for Mission
Early last month, L.A. Tourism's Sales and Services teams traveled to Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle for the Pacific Northwest GM Sales Mission. To help showcase the City of Angels to meeting planners and key clients, our team partnered with Universal Studios Hollywood, Paramount, JW Marriott, The Garland and The L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

The team hosted an event in each city that included activations such as interactive chef demonstrations and company presentations from Enterprise Events Group, Streamline, and more. Throughout the mission, over 70 key clients were represented including DocuSign, Conference Direct, Adobe and Salesforce.

Virtuoso Travel Week and Virtuoso Connects Shanghai Session
L.A. Tourism attended Virtuoso Travel Week, Virtuoso’s exclusive annual global travel industry event in Las Vegas from August 13-18. The Global Tourism and Hotel Sales team conducted over 110 one-on-one appointments with luxury travel advisors from domestic and international markets, sharing the new luxury guide and destination updates. This year, Los Angeles partnered with Visit California and five California DMOs to host a welcome networking breakfast kicking off the week with 21 luxury advisors in attendance. The 2022 Virtuoso Travel Week attracted more than 5,000 luxury travel advisors and preferred partner suppliers from around the world.

Concurrently, L.A. Tourism's China Team attended Virtuoso Connects' Shanghai Session on August 16 and the Beijing Session on August 24. Virtuoso Connects is a regional in-person event aiming to deliver the local Virtuoso advisors and suppliers the resources, insight, and professional skills to empower them from the macro to micro level. The events included two focus group trainings and over 50 one-on-one appointments with Virtuoso luxury advisors.

Media Event Creates Buzz for New NORSE Direct Service
Andreas Niehoerster, L.A. Tourism's Representative in Germany, joined Hannes Hönemann, Head of Business Communication at BER, and Ralf Ostenforf, Director Market Management at VisitBerlin, to launch NORSE Atlantic Airway's new direct flight from Berlin's BER to LAX. The non-stop service between the two sister cities began August 19 and will continue with three weekly flights.

This event has already resulted in social media and press coverage and we look forward to seeing what other stories are generated from this activation!
