Visit California East Coast Sales Mission

As Visit California continues to shine the light on the abundance of meetings opportunities found locally, our very own Darren Green joined Golden State partners Visit Anaheim, San Francisco Travel Association, and San Diego Tourism Authority on Visit California’s recent East Coast sales mission. The group of sales executives traveled to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York to connect with event planners and share California’s anything-is-possible mindset for professional meetings and events.

This sales mission was part of Visit California’s “Meet What’s Possible” campaign, the first of its kind focused solely on the professional meetings and events industry and the role it plays in the overall recovery of California’s tourism industry.

SATTE Shines Los Angeles Spotlight in India

Los Angeles Tourism, along with two DMCs, invited Indian travelers to start their comeback story in the City of Angels at South Asia’s leading travel show, SATTE 2022. From May 18 – 20, Seema, our team member in India, highlighted the destination’s culinary delights, luxury experiences, beaches, as well as destination wedding venues for Indians seeking offbeat luxury in a California setting. The tradeshow, which welcomed travel professionals from over 50 countries, also offered the opportunity to display our new brand identity and increase awareness of Los Angeles Tourism’s presence in the country. With the help of our PR agency in India, Seema also conducted a series of media interviews.

Air Service Recovery FAMs

As air service into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) continues to recover, our Global Tourism and Global Communications teams have been working directly with airline partners on FAMs to highlight new and returned routes. On the Global Tourism side, we co-hosted a FAM with Asiana Airlines from South Korea and a FAM with Austrian Airlines to support reinstated service from Vienna.

Global Communications worked with Air Transat to welcome two journalists on the inaugural flight from Montreal to LAX, with the airline announcing the route will be annualized while in the destination. We also worked with French Bee to welcome eight journalists to highlight the new low cost carrier option from Paris Orly.
