Top Travel Informant Lists LA Among Best Destinations to Visit Next Year

LOS ANGELES (December 2022) Los Angeles Tourism is pleased to announce the city’s designation as one of the 18 best places to travel in 2023 by leading travel website The Points Guy. LA is touted for rolling out the red carpet to some of the world’s biggest events across film, music, and sports in the year to come. Travelers can also anticipate exciting new hotel and restaurant openings, a renaissance of art, culture and cuisine, new exhibits at the city’s museums and cultural institutions, and greater accessibility thanks to improvements at LAX and in the public transportation system, making Los Angeles a compelling destination to visit 2023 and beyond.

 “Year after year, the LA experience is constantly evolving, enticing travelers with innovative, world-class experiences that are only available here in our City of Angels,” said Adam Burke, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. “With a full roster of major sporting events, music and arts festivals, tech conferences and more, 2023 is no exception. On the heels of hosting its first-ever Super Bowl in 2022, South LA’s brand new SoFi Stadium will host the top two college football teams in the country to battle for the National Championship in January, while the 2023

U.S. Open Championship golf tournament will take place at the Los Angeles Country Club in July. The 40th Annual Breeders’ Cup horse racing world championship will also be held at Santa Anita Park in November. The Los Angeles Convention Center will also host the E3 Expo virtual gaming conference in June. These events solidify LA’s reputation as the sports capital of the world, home to nearly a dozen professional sports organizations and buzzing with the energy of live competition.

Visitors to Los Angeles in 2023 will also be some of the first guests of destination-defining new hotels including Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, opening early 2023; Fairmont Century Plaza, Hotel Per La, and The Aster, which opened in fall 2022; and Conrad Los Angeles, which opened in summer 2022. Among other leading global destinations, Los Angeles boasts one of the largest new hotel counts for 2023 with 124 new projects adding 20,365 rooms. These compelling new properties offer yet another draw for travelers in the New Year.
