L.A. Tourism Partners with the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation this Holiday Season

Select Families provided with All-Expense Paid VIP Trips to the City of Angels to Create Special Vacation Memories for the Holidays

The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation’s (JAJF) mission is to create WOW moments for families whose lives are turned upside down when MOM – the derivative of WOW – or Dad is diagnosed with late stage cancer. The foundation partners with physicians across the country who prescribe JAJF as part of the treatment protocol for the patient, the spouse and their children. Physicians have validated the medicinal impact of family vacation travel and believe in the power of beaches, sunsets, music, roller coasters and FUN for these families, especially for the children.

“These are families forever touched by cancer, but indelibly treated by JAJF” said JAJF Founder Jon Albert. “With our fabulous WOW! Partners like Universal Studios, Discover Los Angeles and Loews, we are able to provide the gift of treasured, positive (indispensable) memories for these children and these young Moms and Dads…for these families together…while they can.”

L.A. Tourism works to proudly represent Los Angeles as one of the world’s preferred travel destinations.

“We are proud of our partnership with the members of L.A.’s hospitality and tourism community who joined us in creating a personalized, once-in-a-lifetime itinerary for these families to experience our beautiful city during the holidays,” said Ernie Wooden, President and CEO of L.A. Tourism. “The exciting L.A. vacation itinerary for each family included visits to Hollywood and Universal Studios Hollywood.”

As a theme park destination inspired by movie-magic and a place where guests can suspend disbelief for a short time, Universal Studios Hollywood supports JAJF’s mission to promote the importance of family trips and creating family memories.

“Through our Compassion Program, we partner with several local organizations to host families throughout the year with visits to our theme park,” said Virginia Tanawong, Director, Universal’s Discover a Star Foundation. “It was a rewarding experience for team members to see the JAJF families experience the festive lights, decorations and entertainment in the theme park during this holiday season.” The theme park also made a $10k donation to JAJF from its own Discover a Star foundation which has raised $9 million since its inception, distributed to more than 65 non-profit organizations making a meaningful difference in Los Angeles.
