You’re a social media influencer who happens to be differently abled, and your following is as eclectic and inclusive as the crowds that gather on Venice Beach, your favorite place to visit when you come to L.A. There are tons of fun, boutique hotels close to Venice, but you’re rather fond of the H Hotel Los Angeles, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

Top marks for the splashy blue tile exterior, the unobstructed views of LAX Airport and the Pacific Ocean from the rooftop deck, the leisurely swims in their heated outdoor pool—but extra credit for the fact that the H places accessibility so high on its list of customer priorities in a way most hotels don’t, with suites catering specifically to the deaf and hard of hearing. The H cares about a wide range of people and their needs, and that’s the first step toward saving the planet, in your opinion.

You check into your favorite room, a Deluxe King Hearing Accessible Airport View that includes the famous LAX Gateway Pylons and the iconic Theme Building. Room features include a visual strobe alarm, and notification devices for the doorbell, door knock and incoming calls. The bedding is as plush as ever, the furnishings as chic as you’d expect from a Curio Collection by Hilton property, the 55-inch HDTV serves all your premium cable needs and those ten-foot ceilings make you feel like the sky’s the limit.

The weather’s perfect, and you manage to line up an early morning run along the warm sands of Venice Beach, about a 15 minute rideshare away. You take in the sights of Venice Skate Park, wave at street performers like Harry Perry (the turban’d electric guitarist on in-line skates who has played with Jane’s Addiction and the Grateful Dead) and Treemanity, a walking tree man. Then, it's a quick detour through the Venice Canals, whose unique colorful houses and picturesque bridges are among the most Instagrammable in California.

You head back to the hotel to freshen up, as you’ve got a meeting at Google (also just 15 minutes from your hotel). As usual, you slay the executives with your drive, passion and talent - so much so, they invite you for an early dinner at Venice staple Cafe Gratitude, where the organic plant-based menu invites you to announce things like “I am Connected” (guacamole), “I Am Warm-Hearted” (grilled polenta with braised summer squash) and “I Am Elated” (Mole Abuelita Enchiladas).

You really are elated by the time you get back to the H, despite your super early morning flight tomorrow. You’re not worried - the hotel is literally one minute away from LAX. Which means you have enough time to squeeze in a few laps in the pool, before hitting the chic rooftop deck to enjoy the rest of the iconic SoCal sunset, during which you finally work out what the “H” in H Hotel stands for: Happy. As a clam.
