ARTIST TALK: Susan Feldman, in Expanding Matter

is excited and honored to present SUSAN FELDMAN in her second exhibit here in the Gallery. In this exhibit titled EXPANSIVE MATTER, Feldman takes us on a journey, a journey of the mind, space, dimension and time. Her new body of artwork invites us to explore this adventure that connects us in Spirit, with the familiar and imagined, with one another and with our own personal ever expanding consciousness. The details of these environments that Feldman has drawn and assembled, reveal peaceful, joyous and playful mindscapes that invite the viewer to remember the magic and beauty in each present moment. “Anyone familiar with my previous work might know that I have produced wall art, sculpture, and installations, mostly by employing found wood, paint, photography, colored string, plexiglass, yarn, old hardware, and other found objects.
I’ve always given myself the freedom to choose which medium best suits what I need to express. In this body of work, my medium is primarily Graphite, colored pencil, and paint. My subject matter has often been (and still is) an exploration of architecture, layered memory, consciousness and alternative looks at what is versus what I see.
This show represents the current state I have found myself in. Let’s call it “The Expansive Interior.” Enjoy the exhibition.”
