Dodger Stadium

Gotta give it up for the home team for their longtime offering of a veggie Dodger Dog. In 2021, the Dodgers announced that Vernon-based Papa Cantella’s would be providing the iconic Dodger Dogs throughout the ballpark, replacing longtime supplier Farmer John. Family-owned and operated, Papa Cantella's partnered with Seattle-based Field Roast to feature their Signature Stadium Dog as the official plant-based Dodger Dog. There's also a Plant-Based Bratwurst, offered at the LA on Deck Circle on the field and reserve levels. During the off-season, you can still get your vegan Dodger Dog fix - the Signature Stadium Dog is available at Whole Foods.

Dog Haus

Originally opened in Pasadena in October 2010, Dog Haus now has dozens of locations across the country, including Alhambra, Burbank, Canoga Park, LA Coliseum, Long Beach, NoHo, Northridge, Rose Bowl Stadium, and USC here in LA.

The “craft casual” joint is proud of its clean meat stance, which extends their consciousness to plant-based creations like the juicy Beyond Brat and the Italian-spiced Sooo Veggie on gigantic Hawaiian rolls.

Earles on Crenshaw

It’s easy to call everything “historic” or “iconic” in LA but Earle’s on Crenshaw (formerly Earlez Grille) has actually earned its titles. This family-owned operation has been around for more than 30 years, serving up vegan dogs along with meat ones, with attention to all of the proper toppings - sauerkraut, Vegenaise, grilled onions, mustard, ketchup, relish, vegan chili and vegan cheese, to name just a few. They’ve got vegan links (made by Follow Your Heart) and vegan dogs, choice of whole wheat or gluten-free bun, and a wedding-worthy homemade vegan lemon cake to top things off with a sweet zing.

Tail O' the Pup

One of LA's most beloved hot dog stands, the legendary Tail o' the Pup reopened in July 2022. The iconic 18-foot hot dog was restored by 1933 Group, which has garnered widespread acclaim for its restoration work on Formosa Cafe, Highland Park Bowl and Idle Hour. Installed off historic Route 66 near its original location, Tail o' the Pup fronts a two-story building where The Doors recorded the entire LA Woman album in the lower level, which the band called "The Doors Workshop." The interior features a plein air painting by Shag, along with vintage photos of everyone from Sigourney Weaver to The Go-Go's and Devo in front of Tail O' the Pup. There's even a Doggy Menu and water station for your fur baby!

There are several vegan options for all of the hot dogs: make it a Vegan Pup for $1.50; gluten-free vegan bun ($1.50), sub vegan chili ($2), add vegan cheese ($1.50). Other veg-friendly items include a Veggie Corn Dog, Vegan Burger and a la carte Vegan Chili Cup and Vegan Cheese.
