We are excited to welcome you to ICA LA’s fall exhibitions OPEN HOUSE!
Join us on Saturday, October 1 as we celebrate the opening of two extraordinary exhibitions dedicated to the work of Rebecca Morris and performance collective My Barbarian—Malik Gaines, Jade Gordon, and Alexandro Segade—artists who are near and dear to us and beloved members of the Los Angeles arts community.
Having had her first solo museum presentation at the Santa Monica Museum of Art in 2003, Rebecca Morris returns to ICA LA with a major survey of paintings made over the last two decades. Marking another homecoming, My Barbarian celebrates the return of all members of the collective to the city where they got their start. Traveling to ICA LA from the Whitney Museum of American Art, the exhibition distills the group's twenty-year history to a three-channel video installation accompanied by sculpture, costumes, paintings, and masks drawn from their extensive archive.
OPEN HOUSE festivities kick off at 3pm with a talk between Rebecca Morris and curator Jamillah James, followed by a public reception. The OPEN HOUSE is open to all and no RSVPs are required.
