Steven Spielberg and George Lucas teamed up to create this lavish homage to the adventure serials of Hollywood’s Golden Age, which marked the first screen appearance of one of cinema’s most iconic heroes—Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, in an adventure full of thrilling action and witty dialogue. The film received eight nominations including Best Picture and Directing, and earned Oscars for Art Direction, Film Editing, Sound, and Visual Effects, with a Special Achievement Award for its Sound Effects Editing.
