On Sunday, Nov. 17, Jewish World Watch supporters will rally to support the rights of the Rohingya Muslim population of Myanmar (Burma). The Rohingya captured the world’s attention in the wake of a genocide perpetrated against them by the Myanmar military in 2017. The killing and violence prompted a mass exodus from their native country, where the Rohingya for decades suffered unconscionable persecution at the hands of the military. Nearly 1 million Rohingya now exist at subsistence level in squalid refugee camps in Bangladesh. Those remaining in Myanmar endure severe rights deprivation, active armed conflict and the constant threat of renewed genocide.
