The Caltech Orchestra Features Student Soloists

The Caltech Orchestra, Directed by Dr. Glenn D. Price, will present its Student Soloist Showcase concerts. This event will take place at 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 16 and at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 17 in Ramo Auditorium. The program will feature 5 Caltech students in virtuoso solo works with Orchestra. Wesley Yu will perform the Saint-Saëns “Havanaise” for violin, and Sean Byrne will play the “Romanze” for Viola and Orchestra in the first half of the program. After the intermission there will be three featured piano soloists; Karlming Chen, Forte Shinko and Youngjoon Choi, who will each play a movement of the iconic, and much-loved, “Piano Concerto in G major” by Maurice Ravel. This event will serve to showcase and celebrate the diversity and excellence of talent at Caltech, and will also feature the multi-talented Caltech students who comprise the membership of the Orchestra.
