PreThanksgiving Jazz & Art with Douyé

Douyé (albums)
20-25    |  Nov 16, 2019  |  7:30PM - 10:00PM

Born in Nigeria, Douyé started singing in a church choir in Africa at a very early age. She also had a direct influence of her father, who was a jazz lover. Besides her professional career in Law, Douyé joined the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, where she became a vocal major. Douyé has a global approach to jazz, and she has produced three albums. In this special evening, she will be interpreting a selected Brazilian and Jazz repertoire from her two most recent albums: "Daddy Said So", and "Quatro. Bossa Nova Standards". Douyé will be accompanied by Angelo Metz (guitar), Mika Mutti (keys), Kevin McClellan (bass), and Lucio Vieira (drums). We'll also have a photography exhibit by Mexican artist, Abril Blue. Your $20 donation includes light appetizers. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and special hors' d'oeuvres. Free parking in the street. Questions? Call Javier at (562) 805-7770
