A play from Nigeria, and public forums on topics of interest, 12 Noon-1:00 p.m. Public Forum Fusing Faith and Activism. We will explore the role of religion in the fight for social justice. 2:00 p.m. Wedlock of the Gods. A live stage presentation of the play by Zulu Sofola, Nigeria’s first female published playwright.. A postcolonial play about breaking from the oppression of tradition in a male-lead society. 4:00 p.m. Public Forum Indigenous Religions and Their Impact on Today’s Society/ The Return to Indigenous Religions. Closing Reception 5:30 p.m.- 6:45 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Repeat performance of Wedlock of the Gods. This day of live stage performance and panel discussions is preceded by three days of film screenings at Raleigh Studios.
