SHOW: The Story Collider

DATE/TIME: Thursday, August 22nd, 7:30pm

LOCATION: Lyric Hyperion

The Story Collider live storytelling show returns to Los Angeles with true, personal stories about science. The Story Collider features all kinds of storytellers - researchers, doctors, and engineers of course, but also patients, poets, comedians, and more. On August 22nd, listen to five storytellers share sometimes hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking stories about how science has affected their lives. The theme for our August Show is Breaking the Code.

Storytellers in this show include Samy Kamkar, who created the fastest spreading virus of all time, the MySpace worm, Samy. His work has been cited by the NSA and triggered congressional hearings. Sierra Ornelas, a Navajo American television writer and storyteller who has written for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Superstore, and is an award winning tapestry weaver. And, Moth StorySLAM winner Derek Traub who wrote Past/Forward: The LA Phil at 100. The show is hosted by Audrey Kearns and Joseph Scrimshaw.
