Cherry Glazerr with Liily at FIGfest

Presented by Arts Brookfield, FIGFest kicks off June 7th at FIGat7th in DTLA with rocker Cherry Glazerr. LA-based, hard-rock young bloods, Liily open with a DJ spinning tunes between acts.

Spaceland Presents, LA’s leading concert promotion firm, has collaborated with Arts Brookfield to curate the lineup. The outdoor plaza at FIGat7th will be transformed into an urban concert venue and dance floor brought to life with performances by leading rock, hip-hop, indie, soul, dance, and electronic artists.

Cherry Glazerr, now a three-piece with Clementine Creevy, drummer Tabor Allen and bassist Livvy Bennett, headlines FIGFest on June 7. They released their explosive full-length album Apocalipstick on Inauguration Day in 2017. Apocalipstick sizzled with Creevy’s confidence, vision and fiercely idiosyncratic personality. The new album, Stuffed & Ready, announces Creevy as a songwriter newly tempered and strengthened by coming to terms with her own uncertainty confusion and anger. It’s her go-for-broke honesty that gives Stuffed & Ready its power and gravity. “I am telling my story of how I feel and where I am in life,” she says. “I’m exploring my own self-doubt. I’m confused about what happiness is and I’m searching for my place in the world. With Apocalipstick, I was an over-confident teenager trying to solve the world’s problems. With Stuffed & Ready, I’m a much more weary and perhaps cynical woman who believes you need to figure your own self out first.”

Liily are five Los Angeles teenagers hailing from deep in the San Fernando Valley to the edges of the Inland Empire. Emerging from a new and burgeoning culture of youths in the city, their wildly frenetic shows point to a new vision for alternative and hard rock music in 2018 where such things aren't supposed to exist anymore: one that is actually a hell of a lot of fun. Liily makes music that draws on all the jagged stimuli of their upbringings to make something distinctly Los Angeles in 2018.

FIGFest’s unique lineup reflects the vibrant cultural center that Downtown LA has become. Past festivals have featured The Internet, Anderson .Paak, KING, Superhumanoids, Soulection, Tuxedo, Hanni El Khatib, Lion Babe, Wavves, Poolside, Gabriel Garzon-Montano, and The Belle Brigade. FIGFest is free and open to the public as part of Arts Brookfield’s continued effort to bring Brookfield Properties’ public spaces to life through music, film, interactive experiences, and visual arts.
