Rustic Canyon is welcoming friends Gayle Pirie and John Clark, the chefs behind San Francisco’s beloved Foreign Cinema restaurant, to cook a special dinner. Their culinary tome, The Foreign Cinema Cookbook: Recipes and Stories Under the Stars, was written as a love letter to home cooks and was one of NPR’s Best Books of 2018.
They're partnering with Rustic Canyon Chef de Cuisine Andy Doubrava to create a five-course menu featuring signature dishes and cocktails from the book, melding Northern and Southern California sensibilities with an emphasis on global spices and vegetable-driven fare. Highlights include Catalonian-style Fideus with saffron, favas and wild mushrooms, Dry-Aged NY Strip with cocoa ajwain spice & Cabernet sauce, a Strawberry-Rhubarb Pavlova and more.
Tickets are $105 per person (plus tax & gratuity) via Resy and seatings start at 5:30 p.m. Copies of the cookbook will be available for purchase separately.
