If eating a steak dinner for less was a resolution for Angelenos, the Winter 2020 edition of dineL.A. Restaurant Week is making it happen. Whether you want to celebrate a big baller promotion or are eager to sink your teeth into the carnivorous side of L.A.’s dining scene on a budget, dineL.A. makes it easy to enjoy the finest steak offerings in the city for a discounted price.
Here are a few of our favorite steak picks for dineL.A. Restaurant Week, featuring prix fixe lunch and dinner menus at restaurants across the city through Jan. 31.
Alexander’s Steakhouse
The Alexander’s Steakhouse approach to the classic American steakhouse comes with serious nods to Japanese influence using corn-fed Certified Angus Beef® from the Midwest as well as Wagyu beef. Trained by notable Michelin-rated chefs, Executive Chef Florent Courriol has created a dineL.A. Dinner Menu that includes options like uni with egg cream, Chawanmushi (a savory Japanese egg custard), duck wagyu with duck jus and spicy coriander; and Kagoshima beef that is known for its tenderness as well as its well-balanced marbling. This celebratory meal starts at $119, with an optional wine pairing for $55, caviar ($38), or bone marrow for $10.

APL Restaurant
BBQ fans will relish the $20 Lunch Menu at APL Restaurant, located on the ground floor of the historic Taft Building - L.A.’s first-ever high-rise and built in 1923. Revered pitmaster and chef, Adam Perry Lang does dineL.A. right with a half-pound of brisket, pulled pork or pork ribs, along with solid BBQ sides like baked beans, potato salad or spicy coleslaw.
If you can’t make it to lunch, book your table for the $99 Dinner Menu and enjoy wet-aged Ribeye or NY Strip, or step up to the Bone-In Ribeye, dry-aged under 100 days (+$17); or Bone-In NY Strip, dry-aged over 100 days (+$20). Dinner is five courses, with family- style sides like Blue Lake Green Bean, Broccoli di Ciccio, and Duck Fat Fries.

Dinner: Monday-Saturday 5:30pm - 10pm, Sunday 4:30pm - 9pm
The Arthur J
Located in the heart of Manhattan Beach, The Arthur J is holding down the steak flavor and Mid-Century vibes. This South Bay favorite is skillfully grilling over a stoked live fire using white oak embers - it’s no wonder there is always a crowded dining room. Priced at only $99, the dineL.A. Dinner Menu includes Salmon Tartare, Farro Risotto, and 16 oz. Angus Ribeye with choice of toppings and sides. Finish the meal with the Cake of the Month.

Bourbon Steak Los Angeles
Chef Michael Mina’s restaurant is a modern and timeless American steakhouse experience. Keeping tried and true dishes traditional but adding excitement and whimsy has earned Mina accolades from the James Beard Foundation. The $59 Dinner Menu includes a choice of three appetizers and entrees like 10 oz Wagyu Sirloin Cap with broccolini, guajillo, scallion and fingerling potatoes; or 9 oz Prime Flat Iron Steak with ancient grains, mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and black garlic. For dessert, choose between Funnel Cake Cheesecake or the signature Michael Mina’s Root Beer Float.

Dal Rae
This Pico Rivera gem has been operating since 1958 and hasn't lost its Old School charm. Its reputation for excellent dining experiences has kept customers coming back for generations. The classic $49 Dinner Menu offers choices like mushrooms stuffed with lump crab and hollandaise, and signature Dal Rae Pepper Filet Mignon with onion, bacon and peppercorns; or Prime Wagyu Flat Iron Steak with chimichurri sauce. There's also a $25 Lunch Menu featuring "Poor Man's Pepper Steak" - fresh ground sirloin with onion, bacon and peppercorn mixture.

Gwen
Half European-style butcher shop, half high-end steakhouse, Gwen is both classic and youthful. The brainchild of Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone and his brother Luke, Gwen specializes in Australian Wagyu. For dineL.A. Gwen will be offering a $35 Lunch Menu that includes a market salad, half roasted chicken with duck fat potatoes and pear sorbet with honeycomb and bee pollen. The $125 Dinner Menu includes house-made charcuterie and 6 oz Blackmore Wagyu New York Strip with duck fat potatoes and grilled cabbage. Enjoy the meal and maybe purchase a strip from the butcher counter on the way out.

H&H Brazilian Steakhouse - DTLA
H&H Brazilian Steakhouse offers an all-you-can-eat experience with the best quality taste meant to be savored. The $59 Dinner Menu includes a complimentary glass of champagne and unlimited servings of 16 different cuts of meat - a carnivore's dreams of excess come true. Side dishes include garlic mashed potatoes, golden bananas, and fried polenta. Make sure to leave room for dessert, a choice of passion fruit mousse or papaya cream.

Located on the 71st floor of the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, La Boucherie is an upscale American steakhouse with a French twist. A 2019 Michelin Guide Recommended Restaurant, La Boucherie offers premium steaks, features a cheese cave and charcuterie atelier, and floor-to-ceiling screens for intimate private dining. For dineL.A., La Boucherie is offering a $135 five-course Dinner Menu that features Wagyu Spinalis with New Bridge Potato and Porcini Duxelle.

Lawry's The Prime Rib
Lawry’s The Prime Rib is not just one of L.A.’s longest running institutions, it's also iconic for putting prime rib on the radar of every hungry meat eater. For dineL.A., Lawry’s is offering a $59 Dinner Menu - an absolute steal to experience the legendary eats. The meal includes Lawry’s Famous Spinning Bowl Salad and California Cut of Roasted Prime Rib or Atlantic Salmon and broiled Nova Scotia Lobster Tail. Choose one of three sides like the classic Creamed Spinach and make sure to save room for something sweet like Crème Brûlée.

Mastro's Ocean Club - Malibu

The $25 Lunch Menu at Nick + Stef's Steakhouse includes one of three starters - Creamy Mushroom Soup, Caesar Salad, or Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. For entree, opt for Braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes, root vegetables and crispy shallots.
The $59 Dinner Menu includes entrees like Oak Grilled Petite Filet Mignon, 14 oz dry aged New York Strip Steak. Make any entree pop by ordering it “Oscar style” with jumbo lump crab meat.
Ruth's Chris Steak House
Ruth’s Chris Steak House offers the perfect steak dinner done right, at a price that feels even better. Make your next date night at one of the Ruth’s Chris locations in Beverly Hills, Marina del Rey, Pasadena or Woodland Hills and enjoy a $59 prix fixe dinner which includes a choice of three starters and entrees like Filet or Petite Ribeye topped with your choice of Au Poivre (black pepper sauce), Bearnaise or Bacon Onion Jam.
