Dine LA Date Night 2021

dineL.A. Restaurant Week returns on March 1, with a slew of Los Angeles-area restaurants offering special prix fixe menus through March 14. The twice-yearly event is a chance for Angelenos to explore an eclectic array of dining options from the San Fernando to the South Bay, Venice to Pasadena.

If you're planning a date night (or afternoon), dineL.A. is a great time to do just that especially with so many outdoor dining options. We've compiled a list of restaurants that are ideal settings for romantics, whether your date includes a beach trip, a drive through the Santa Monica Mountains or a walk through the Arts District. Just make sure to schedule a reservation ahead of time. For couples who prefer to stay at home and watch a good movie, note that some restaurants participating in this spring's dineL.A. event have made their menus available for takeout and delivery as well.

Situated inside a yellow house that dates back to 1908 and led by celebrated chef Antonio Mure, Barrique might be an ideal way to cap off a romantic sunset at the beach. The popular Venice restaurant will have its dineL.A. menu available for dine-in customers from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. The dinner, priced at $65+, includes antipasti, in addition to main course and dessert.

If your date includes a stroll through Old Town Pasadena, Southeast Asian restaurant Bone Kettle is an ideal spot for lunch or dinner with a heated garden patio. It's dineL.A. lunch menu, served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is a budget friendly option, with two courses for $20. The $45 dinner menu includes three courses plus dessert, and is available from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Both menus are for dine-in customers only.

Located at the Four Seasons Hotel, Culina is a celebrity favorite that boasts "a taste of Tuscany in Los Angeles." The restaurant's succulent-walled outdoor dining area is ideal for casual, yet chic dates. For dineL.A., Culina's dinner menu offers two courses and dessert for $65+ between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. for dining in or taking home. If you plan on making an earlier date, the restaurant also has two-course, dineL.A. lunch menu offered Monday through Sunday for $35. If you plan to eat at Culina, make reservations and note that the restaurant has a one-and-a-half hour time limit for patio diners.

Beloved for its twinkly romantic atmosphere, Studio City restaurant Firefly has a patio with two fireplaces for late winter date nights. For those looking for dinner and drinks, particularly if you're a fan of bourbon and whiskey, the restaurant's extensive list of spirits is certainly a bonus. Firefly's dineL.A. menu is priced at $65+ and will be offered for dine-in guests only. Check back soon for their dinner menu.

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele's charming, brick-lined patio in the heart of Hollywood is the perfect setting for a pizza date with multiple outdoor dining options. This not-so-hidden gem offers a dine-in only menu for dineL.A. from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for $65, which includes two appetizers, two main courses and one dessert. For the early birds, a $30 lunch menu, which includes vegan options for both the appetizer and main course, is available for dine-in until 5 p.m.

Located in the Hauser & Wirth complex, Manuela is a great addition to an art-filled date spent roaming amongst the murals of the Arts District. The restaurant's dineL.A. menu includes an appetizer plate, main course and dessert for $30 and is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner, served from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., includes two courses and a dessert for $55. Manuela's dineL.A. menus are available whether you're eating on the restaurant's patio, or prefer to order takeout or delivery.

For a brunch date, Poppy + Rose offers a casual and charming experience in downtown's Fashion District on its rooftop patio. Strategically placed near the flower mart, its dineL.A. lunch menu is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a starter, main course and dessert for $35. Customers also have the option of adding a $10 donation to the South L.A. Cafe's Grocery Donation initiative. For those who prefer to eat at home, Poppy + Rose's dineL.A. picks are also available for takeout and delivery orders.

A convergence of Old West and Old Hollywood, Saddle Peak Lodge began its life as a general store tucked into the Santa Monica Mountains and became a favorite of screen stars like Errol Flynn and Clark Gable. Today, Saddle Peak Lodge's rustic glamour appeals to diners with uncommon tastes; it's known for dishes that include ingredients like New Zealand elk, bison and emu. Saddle Peak Lodge's dineL.A. dinner is priced at $55 and is for dine-in only. The picturesque setting with multiple outdoor dining options makes this a perfect stop if you're planning on a romantic drive through Malibu Canyon. Check back soon for their dinner menu.

The latest local addition to Matthew Kenney's plant-based food empire is Sestina in Culver City. Featuring a wonderful outdoor patio, and a pasta bar that is building its reputation on vegan takes of classic Italian dishes. For dineL.A., that means your choice of one of eight different pasta dishes, half of which are also soy-free. The dineL.A. menu also includes one starter (including a gluten-free arancini) and dessert for $35. This is a dine-in only menu offered between Wednesday at Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

For an adventure date with a perfect outdoor dining setting that takes you to the South Bay, The Strand House has dineL.A. menus for both lunch and dinner. Lunch at the oceanfront Manhattan Beach restaurant is available Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and  Sunday and includes a two-course meal for $30. The two-course dinner service, which is $45, begins at 5 p.m. from Tuesday through Sunday. Both lunch and dinner have wine pairing and dessert options available for an extra charge. The Strand House's dineL.A. offer is also available for takeout. Rent bikes on the beach for a jaunt and don’t feel bad about including the sweets.

For L.A. history buffs who appreciate a good view and unforgettable outdoor dining options, Yamashiro is an ideal spot for your dineL.A. date. This opulent, restored estate-turned-restaurant, initially built by Asian art collectors Adolph and Eugene Bernheimer, dates back to 1914 and its location, 250 feet above Hollywood Boulevard, adds a spectacular view of the city. Yamashiro's dineL.A. menu is offered from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dine-in customers only (perfect for the sunset) and reservations are required. The $65 dinner includes a starter, appetizer, entree and dessert and the menu does include a vegan option amongst its entrees.
