Celebrate Valentine's Day at Los Angeles Restaurants

Love is in the air, and restaurants across Los Angeles are offering special Valentine’s Day menus for an unforgettable romantic night out. From lavish prix fixe dinners to globally-inspired menus, read on for more than two dozen L.A. restaurants to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Special menus are only available on Wednesday, Feb. 14 unless otherwise noted.

a.o.c.



The acclaimed wine bar from Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, a.o.c. is iserving a four-course prix fixe menu on Valentine’s Day. Highlights include a choice of starters, including baked ricotta, young broccoli focaccia, pea pancakes, and hamachi crudo. Next, choose from ricotta gnocchi, oven-roasted Manila clams, or the famed Spanish fried chicken. "More Good Stuff" features roasted root vegetables, wood-roasted trout, grilled salmon, and braised pork cheeks. To share with your sweetheart, dishes include the popular half-chicken "Ode to Zuni," lamb shank and grilled ribeye ($20 supplement). For dessert, choose from a two-cheese course or "apple bomb cake." Pricing is $115 per person, with an optional $40 wine pairing.

AKASHA



Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Culver City's AKASHA is featuring Valentine's Day a la carte specials such as cauliflower soup, dungeness crab toast, large plates like crispy duck leg confit and New Zealand rack of lamb, and decadent hot chocolate souffle for dessert. Pricing for the Valentine’s Day specials ranges from $8–35, and are served in addition to AKASHA’s regular dinner menu. Specials available from 5:30-9:30pm. Note: Wine Wednesday discounts will not be available on Valentine's Day.

AR Cucina



AR Cucina in Culver City features dishes inspired by chef-owner Akasha Richmond's love of Italian cuisine, and her travels throughout Italy. On Valentine's Day, AR Cucina is featuring a la carte specials along with the regular menu, including fluke crudo, beet & goat cheese agnolotti, lobster & prawn risotto, and New York Steak for Two. Bartender Clare Ward is featuring two Valentine's Day cocktails: Casanova (Pig's Nose Whisky, Pama, blood orange shrub, Amaro CioCiaro) and Isabella Rossellini, made with tequila, raspberry gin, rose, Firewater Bitters, lime and rose salt. The Valentine's Day specials are available 5:30-9:30pm.

Baldoria



Join Baldoria in Little Tokyo for a “Notte d’Amore” (Night of Love), featuring a four-course regional Italian dinner. Highlights include caprese salad, pan fried potato gnocchi, pancetta wrapped porchetta, wild Alaskan halibut, and Italian olive oil cake. Pricing is $49 per person. Beer and wine pairings are available with each course for an additional $20 per person. Seatings at 6:30 or 8:30pm. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.

Border Grill



The lively urban cantina from Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, Border Grill in Downtown L.A. is offering a four-course Valentine's Day menu, regular dinner menu and a la carte specials. Start the evening with a special Valentine's cocktail like the Sweet on Me (Viva 32 Tequila Joven, strawberry, St. Germain, lemon) or Chocolate Martini with mint-infused vodka, Frangelico and Mexican chocolate. Appetizers for the prix fixe menu include crab & shrimp salpicon, parsnip & pear soup, or beets & pomegranate salad. For entree, choose from pollo adobado, branzino, ribeye churrasco, or crispy quinoa bowl. Dessert Duo features cafe de olla chocolate cake and blood orange crema catalana. Pricing for the prix fixe menu (includes glass of sparkling wine) is $45 per person. Prix fixe specials can be ordered a la carte. Happy hour drinks and regular dinner menu will also be available in the Cantina Bar.

Cafe Birdie



The romantic dining room at Cafe Birdie in Highland Park is an ideal setting for a Valentine’s Day dinner. Sip a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, then choose from a first course of tuna tartare or persimmon salad. Main course options include grilled hanger steak, squid ink pasta, or Anson Mills polenta. For dessert, choose from vanilla cinnamon beignets or frozen tiramisu. Pricing for the prix fixe menu is $100 per couple.

Cafe Pinot



Voted “Most Romantic Restaurant” by L.A. Downtown News, Café Pinot features a lush garden setting surrounded by stunning skyline views of Downtown L.A. Served from 5-9pm, the Valentine's Day menu is offered as a three-course ($65) or four-course ($75) prix fixe menu. Highlights include oysters, uni spaghetti, beet chitarra with black truffles, halibut, braised lamb shank, beef tenderloin, and chocolate passion cream. Angel's Champagne Flight is available for additional $29.

Cal Mare



Located on the ground floor of the newly renovated Beverly Center, Cal Mare celebrates the best of coastal Italian cuisine and Southern California's bountiful ingredients. On Valentine's Day, Cal Mare is serving a prix fixe menu that starts with antipasti such as Pacific amberjack crudo, yellowfin tuna crudo, Pacific oysters, baby octopus, or "caviale e mozzarella." First course options include spicy shrimp & chickpea pancake, wild mushroom ragu, spaghetti alla chitarra, and a supplemental carbonara pizza ($38). Entrees include wood grilled diver scallops, Flannery's dry aged hanger steak, wild ocean trout steak, monkfish "osso bucco," and 14-day aged Sonoma duck for two. For dessert, choose from a selection of gelatos and sorbetti. The four-course menu is priced at $95 and offers optional pairings: Premium Wine ($35), Bubbles ($45) and Grand Wine ($55).

On Valentine's Day, the Chaya restaurants in Downtown L.A. and Venice are showcasing their signature French-Japanese cuisine with three-course prix fixe menus. The DTLA menu starts with a beet tartare cone amuse. First courses include king crab, smoked hamachi, or Hokkaido wagyu shabu shabu ($15 extra). For the main course, choose from miso hamachi toro, kurobuta pork chop katsu, or filet mignon (add $10). Dessert is a choice of strawberry chiffon cake or chocolate molten cake. Pricing is $65 per person.

Cliff's Edge



Boasting one of the most romantic patios in L.A., Cliff’s Edge in Silver Lake is a popular destination for couples throughout the year. Cliff's Edge is serving a five-course, prix fixe Valentine's Day menu from 6-11 p.m. After an oyster amuse-bouche, first course options include roasted cauliflower, cassoulet, and crudo. For entree, choose from scallops & bacon, Mary's duck breast, short rib or wild mushroom cavatelli. Finish with sticky toffee pudding, strawberry crostata or chocolate beet cake. Pricing for the Valentine's Day menu is $75 per person.

Craft Los Angeles



On Valentine's Day, Tom Colicchio's Craft in Century City is serving a three-course prix fixe menu from 5-9:45 p.m. First courses for the table include baby beets, diver scallop crudo, and pork rillette. Main course selections include barramundi, Ora King salmon, diver scallops, Liberty Farm duck breast, wagyu beef sirloin, and beef short rib ravioli. For the table, there are seasonal sides and two desserts, chocolate hazelnut torte with blood orange and rhubarb vacherin with honey ricotta. Pricing is $130 per person.

Crossroads



With an elegant interior design and celebrity investors like Moby and Travis Barker, Crossroads Kitchen was a hit from the minute it opened in March 2013. On Valentine’s Day, the stylish vegan restaurant is serving a five-course menu that starts with a choice of baby chicory salad or baby gem Caesar. The second course is the classic Italian Wedding Soup - a play on the translation of minestra maritata (“married soup”). Next, choose from oven roasted sumac sunchokes or socca crepe. Fourth course is a choice of sun-dried tomato tortellini or romanesco en croute. Finish with a dessert of red velvet verrine or Bananas Foster. The five-course menu is priced at $75 (includes a glass of champagne), with seatings at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Faith & Flower



The stunning Downtown L.A. restaurant, Faith & Flower is offering a three-course Valentine's Day menu that starts with a complimentary champagne toast. First course is a choice of wild snapper crudo or red quinoa & beet salad. Main course selections include fried cauliflower, foie gras & black truffle agnolotti, Ora King salmon, or jerk marinated half chicken. Finish with white chocolate souffle cheesecake.

555 East Steakhouse



For more than 30 years, 555 East has offered a timeless American steakhouse experience in a supperclub setting. Priced at $89 per person, the prix fixe Valentine's Day menu starts with classic appetizers like Caesar salad, New England clam chowder, jumbo lump crab cake, or iceberg wedge. Entrees include signatures like filet mignon, prime ribeye, prime New York strip, Surf & Turf, and prime Colorado rack of lamb. Dessert choices include vanilla creme brulee and New York cheesecake. FLEMING'S (Feb. 9-18, 2018)



Romance goes beyond Valentine's Day at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, which is offering a four-course prix fixe menu at its L.A. locations from Feb. 9-18. Your romantic evening begins with an amuse-bouche of prosciutto wrapped sea scallop and a seasonal beet & goat cheese salad. For entree, choose from 8 oz filet mignon or New Zealand barbecue salmon, with colossal shrimp or king crab leg for pairing options. To end the night on a sweet note, indulge in shareable chocolate covered madeleine cookies with chocolate dipped strawberries. Pricing for the prix fixe menu starts at $75 per person.

Hinoki & The Bird



With travels through the Silk Road as the inspiration, Hinoki & The Bird features an indoor/outdoor space that's one of the most romantic in L.A. Executive Chef Brandon Kida is serving a four-course Valentine's Day tasting menu that starts with a glass of champagne, white white, or red wine. First course is a choice of sashimi or roasted beets. Next, choose from tortellini or roasted artichoke. Entree is roasted black cod or Snake River Farms beef tenderloin. Dessert is chocolate cake. Pricing for the prix fixe menu is $105 per person. Supplements include half-dozen kusshi oysters ($18) and lobster roll ($22). Vegetarian menu available by request.

Le Petit Paris



Located in the Historic Core of Downtown L.A., Le Petit Paris is the vision of Cannes-based restaurateurs David and Fanny Rolland. The 400-seat restaurant offers a quintessential brasserie dining experience on Valentine's Day. After an amuse-bouche, start with salmon tartare heart, black trumpet mushroom ravioli, or rainbow roasted beet carpaccio. Entree selections include Mediterranean sea bass, Maple Farm duck breast, bacon wrapped pork loin, or Vegan Plate (roasted baby peppers stuffed with olive mashed potato, red pepper coulis, fried blossom squash). Dessert is a choice of "Adam" (sweetheart dark chocolate mousse, cherry sparkling heart, ginger chocolate sauce) or "Eve" (raspberry & lychee heart-shaped panna cotta, Cupid's arrow macaron, rose petal crumble).
