Discover the Stunning Street Art of VHILS in L.A.

Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils) has a unique street style that doesn't employ spray paint or wheat paste, but rather the actual walls and their history. The artist is best known for his relief portraits, carved into layers of plaster and brick all over the world. Using acid etch, bleach, pneumatic drills, and other improvised tools to reveal a wall’s layers, he crafts realist portraits of people that peer from sides of buildings. Los Angeles is home to seven of those personalities, with three beautiful new works celebrating the opening of his first solo gallery show, Annihilation at Over the Influence in the Arts District, on view now through April 1, 2018.
Visit the gallery to see his stunning sculptures and paper works, then create your own tour of the larger than life street pieces with the following guide.
