LOS ANGELES (Nov. 30, 2022) – Los Angeles Tourism is proud to share that Condé Nast Traveler has named Los Angeles’s Arts District to its coveted list of the 23 Best Places to Go in the U.S. in 2023. One of the hottest neighborhoods in Downtown Los Angeles, the Arts District continues to draw creatives and epicures to its streets with world-class dining, local breweries, craft cocktail bars, compelling art galleries, independently owned boutiques, forthcoming design-centric hotels and more.

“The Arts District is an urban oasis of creativity, representative of what makes Los Angeles such a captivating destination,” said Adam Burke, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. “Artistic expression and cultural diversity are pervasive throughout the neighborhood, sparking inspiration and spurring ingenuity across food, art, design and more. We are thrilled to see the Arts District recognized by Condé Nast Traveler.”

Once an industrial hub for railroads and manufacturing, the Arts District offers a blueprint for adaptive reuse and historic preservation, housing the city’s latest hot spots in restored warehouses and century-old buildings. The area is a feast for the eyes, home to revived architecture that serves as a canvas for the imagination of Angelenos, from interior design to street art. Many of the neighborhood’s most vibrant attractions are hiding in plain sight, tucked inside long-standing, non-descript buildings that surprise and delight upon entrance.

Anchored by the likes of celebrated Italian restaurant Bestia and diverse shopping and dining collective ROW DTLA, the Arts District culinary scene is now host to a new crop of Michelin contenders, including Chef Enrique Olvera’s Damian, lush rooftop and Mexico City sister outlet LA Cha Cha Cha, Korean Mini-Mart to Prix Fixe Concept Yangban Society, and more. New hotel openings will further beckon travelers to the neighborhood in the coming months, including Kensho Ryokan Hotel anticipated by early 2023 and The Rendon Hotel by the end of the year.
