As I write this month’s note, I am traveling to China to participate in the 2017 Tripartite Summit – a economic alliance formed in 2014 between Los Angeles and its two most economically important sister cities, Guangzhou and Auckland. Two cities that deliver rich sources of inbound international visitation to our destination.
This historic agreement provides a strategic platform for growing trilateral cooperation that fosters trade, innovation and investment opportunities within tourism, among other key economic sectors. The three cities aim to set a new standard for how modern cities can engage and collaborate in the 21st century as we work together to enhance economic relations for mutual benefit.
Of course, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s important to reflect on everything we have to be thankful for. L.A. Tourism is truly thankful for our 47 million annual visitors from around the globe, and you – our members – for always rolling out our signature red carpet to ensure our guests have a memorable experience. Thank you for your partnership in making Los Angeles one of the world’s premier travel destinations.
Best Wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving,
