Earlier this month, I traveled to Berlin as part of the Los Angeles delegation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of L.A.-Berlin Sister City relationship. Mayor Garcetti led the delegation, organized by the Sister Cities of Los Angeles organization, which included Doane Liu, LACTD; Tom Gilmore, Gilmore Associates; Stephen Cheung, World Trade Center; and Deborah Flint, LAWA; among other governement and civic leaders. Our agenda in Germany focused on strengthening personal, political and business relationships and promoting bilateral cooperation in business, innovation, aviation and tourism. Germany is L.A.’s third largest European tourism market with 236,000 annual visitors.
