A Note from Ernie - December 2017

President and CEO Ernest Wooden Jr., LATCB

As 2017 draws to an end, I’d like to ‘toast’ to the collective achievements of the Los Angeles tourism industry. New milestones were set, old records were broken, and we are firmly positioned for what should be another incredible year for L.A.’s hospitality community.

Looking ahead to January, we’re excited to celebrate ten years of dineL.A. at more than 300 of the most delectable restaurant across the city with 15 days of special menus from January 12 – 26. There’s truly no better way to explore one of the most exciting and diverse food destinations in the country than with dineL.A.

Collections from Transient Occupancy Tax continue to fill the City of L.A.’s General Fund with $23.9 million accumulated during October. This puts the fiscal year total at $103.8 million, slightly above the adopted budget of $99.2 million and 16.5% above the same period last year ($89.1 million).

These are just a few of the updates we’re sharing with you in this month’s member newsletter. Once again, thank you for your esteemed partnership and endless support for making Los Angeles one of the world’s truly premier travel destinations. I wish you every success in the year ahead.

Cheers!
