April 2016: New International Air Service for Los Angeles International Airport

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the main airport serving the Greater Los Angeles area. LAX is the fifth busiest airport in the world and second in the United States, offering 692 daily nonstop flights to 85 domestic cities and 928 weekly nonstop flights to 67 cities in 34 countries on nearly 60 air carriers.

Following is a list of new overseas air service that has been announced for 2016. All flights depart from LAX unless otherwise noted.

• SAS (SK): NEW. March 14, 2016. Stockholm – LAX, daily.
• Thomas Cook (MT): NEW. May 2, 2016. Manchester – LAX. New seasonal service 2x weekly.
• Aer Lingus (EI): NEW. May 4. 2016. Dublin – LAX, 5x weekly.
• Norwegian (DY): London/Gatwick – LAX. Increase to 3x weekly from May 10, 2016, 4x weekly from Sept. 2, 2016.
• XL Airways (SE): NEW. June 1, 2016. Paris – LAX. New seasonal service. 3x weekly June 1 – Aug. 31, 2016. 2x weekly Sept. 1-30, 2016.
• WOW Air (WW): NEW. June 15, 2016. Reykjavik – LAX, 4x weekly.
• Norwegian (DY): NEW. July 30, 2016. Paris/Orly – LAX, 2x weekly.

• Hainan (HU): NEW. Jan. 21, 2016. Changsha  – LAX, 2x weekly.
• American Airlines (AA): NEW. Feb. 11, 2016. Haneda – LAX, daily.
• Philippine Airlines (PR): NEW. March 15, 2016. Cebu – LAX, 3x weekly.
• China Southern (CZ): March 27, 2016. Expanded seasonal service. Guangzhou – LAX. Increase from 1x weekly to x11 weekly flights.
