Discover Los Angeles

The ultimate guide to summer is here! The new Discover L.A. app is a sleek digital pocket guide packed with rich content tailored for you to explore the best of Los Angeles. Built in partnership with the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and funded in part by a grant from Metro, the app delivers personalized content based on weather, time and location. Visitors and locals alike can easily hop around the city by clicking “get me there,” which will populate transit options including bike, car and Metro. There’s also seasonal scavenger hunts to encourage urban exploration, kicking off with an ice cream-themed crawl of some the best parlors throughout Los Angeles.

Additional features include:
• Daily events highlighted throughout L.A. County
• Find locations featured in film and television
• Locate the closest, free WiFi locations
• Itineraries based on weather, time and distance
• Discover hotel accommodations by neighborhood

There’s something mysteriously seductive about the Roosevelt, which opened in May 1927 and is the oldest continually operating hotel in Los Angeles. You can’t take your eyes off the coffered ceiling of the lobby, the three-tiered fountain under the hotel’s original chandelier, the beautifully-tiled terra-cotta stairs to the mezzanine, the pool painted by David Hockney—seriously, you could Instagram this place for hours.
