For more than a century, the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena has been a festival of flowers, music and sports celebrated by a parade and college football. From the pre-bowl game feasting at Lawry’s Beef Bowl, to the spectacular Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game on New Year's Day, "America's New Year Celebration" is a Southern California tradition that is unequaled anywhere in the world.

With the theme of “Dreams Come True," the 125th Rose Parade is taking place on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 at 8 a.m. (PST) featuring spectacular floral floats, marching bands from across the country, and high-stepping equestrian units. Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully, an American sports icon and “the voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers” for 64 years, is the Grand Marshal for the 2014 Tournament of Roses and will ride in the parade on New Year’s Day.

For the 2014 Rose Parade, the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LA Tourism) presents its “Endless Entertainment”-themed float, a colorful display of flowers and natural materials that evokes the city’s most popular attractions, including Universal Studios Hollywood, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, TCL Chinese Theatre, Olvera Street, Chinatown, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Griffith Observatory, Watts Towers, and the Space Shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center.

FLOAT VIEWING
You can get a sneak preview of the floats before they make their debut in the 2014 Rose Parade. During the final stages of preparation, a variety of seeds, bark, fruits and vegetables, grasses and of course, flowers are being applied to the floats by experienced professionals as well as hard working volunteers. The public is invited to watch the floats getting decorated at three Pasadena locations: the Rosemont Pavilion (Dec. 27-30), Brookside Pavilion (Dec. 27-30), and the Rose Palace (Dec. 27-31). Addresses and viewing times are available at the Tournament of Roses Float Decorating & Viewing page.

FLOAT DECORATING
Community members and visitors are needed each year to decorate floats for the Rose Parade. Whether you’re looking to participate as an organized group or as an individual, float builders are happy to have the help. All volunteer decorating opportunities are organized directly by the float builders.
