At this simply-decorated Hollywood gem, Peruvian cuisine is paramount. For one thing, the fish dishes are as authentic in preparation and as fresh as it gets—in fact, the ceviche rivals what you might find in Lima. But Los Balcones de Peru sees no point in stopping at fish; the chicken and beef dishes reap loads of acclaim as well, and you can always wash down a mouthful of camarones a la Piedra (shrimp cooked in Peruvian spices, aji amarillo, yuca and red onion) with one of the tasty Peruvian beer selection, or a fine Chilean or Argentinean wine. Don’t forget to split one of the alfajores—powdered sugar cookies enhanced with a layer of homemade dulce de leche.
