Contemporary, elegant and inviting, Le Ka, (French/Chinese for “The Family”) is the newest dining experience by Marcus and Michael Kwan. Located at the corner 6th and Flower in the Financial District, Le Ka is the reimaged former Cathay Bank space. Opened in September 2012, the exterior was so understated, that many locals were surprised to learn a new restaurant lay within! The curious will be delighted with what they find. The striking 20-foot windows bathe the interior dining room with natural light, while the enclosed two-tiered patio complete with fireplace and fire feature feels like an outdoor room.

Chef David Feau’s menu features Contemporary American Cuisine featuring dishes such as
Santa Barbara Spot Prawns, Chorizo Zucchini and Pea Shoot Salad and a 26 oz. Dry Aged
Cote du Boeuf. For those who want to sample smaller plates first, the Fried Oyster Sliders with Shallots and Spicy Remoulade or the Brussel Sprout Salad with Walnuts, Currants, Blue Cheese, Crème Fraiche and Sherry Vinegar are wonderful introductions to Le Ka.

Andrew Parish’s craft cocktails showcase fresh, exotic combinations in enticing presentations. Ranging from classics to new standards, two current favorites are the Blood and Smoke, blending Blood Orange Juice, Vodka, Calisaya Liqueur, Smoked Agave Nectar, Lime Juice and Soda Water; and the Joven Witness, made with Mezcal, Lemon Juice, Honey Syrup, Orange Juice, Peach Bitters and Albarino. There are two Happy Hours at Le Ka -- 3:00 p.m.- 7:00pm Monday – Friday.
10:30 – close Monday through Sunday.

Three private dining rooms as well as the upper and lower patios are available for business or social functions. The most intimate space (VIP Room 2, capacity 12) can be combined with the next largest
(VIP Room 1/Capacity 18) for a party of 30.The Banquet Room (capacity 35 seated, 50 standing) has frosted glass window that can be opened to the main dining room or remain closed for added privacy. The Upper Patio can accommodate 60 seated guests, 120 standing. The Lower Patio seats
65, but can hold 120 guests for cocktails. The Main Dining Room holds 100 seated guests, 200 for a reception.

Best of all, Le Ka stays opens until the previously unheard of hour of 2:00a.m Monday - Saturday, until Midnight on Sunday! Music to the ears of both late arriving visitors and nightlife-loving downtowners.
