Smoke Season

Echo

Los Angeles, CA 90026

8:00pm

When Smoke Season's Jason Rosen and Gabrielle Wortman came together, they wanted to create a sound that captured their youthful encounters in the great state of California. With their first release, Signals EP, not only does the group achieve this, but they render a listening experience unique enough to standalone in sound. Smoke Season blends psychedelic folk rock reminiscent of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, with searing electronic undertones in the vein of The XX. The result is beautiful story-telling that is musically saturated with the Old West, tumbleweeds, and a pioneering youthful spirit. Smoke Season captures the ears, minds, and hearts of listeners of all ages.

Monday Night Residency with Tête

Echo

Los Angeles, CA 90026

8:30pm

Ammo, Jax, Kimi, and Rachel met in a paint shed in Echo Park after a chance encounter with a bag of gummy worms and guitar pedals left them jamming out under a mid summer night's moon back in 2013. They shared a love for metal, heads, reverb, drone, art, wolves, dogs and gummy worms. They jammed for a year before making their way into the studio with Joel Morales (dios, Joel Jerome and His Babies on Acid, Cherry Glazzer) to record an EP coming out on Manimal Vinyl August 2014.

Guided by the cult memories of My Bloody Valentine, Tête ("head" in French) made a pact to infiltrate heads and weave a segment of the tale of the human condition art itself is responsible for. We can all live inside our heads, somedays the birds are chirping and somedays they are making noise. Make noise.
