FAMILY FILM DAY AT CAAM - 'ETHNIC NOTIONS'

,

Director and producer Marlon Riggs' documentary, “Ethnic Notions”, takes us through American history as it traces the evolution of the deeply rooted stereotypes that have fueled anti-Black prejudice. This film explores caricatures like "Loyal Toms," "Faithful Mammies," and "Grinning Coons," that permeated popular culture from the 1820s to the 1950s.
