Tribute to Gassers

Automobile Driving Museum

610 Lairport Street, El Segundo, 90245

10:00am to 2:00pm

The “Gasser” may be a racecar from another era, but its image has transcended changing times to represent the spirit of competitive American drag racing from the 1960s. With this inspiration, the Automotive Driving Museum is proud to present a “Tribute to Gassers” exhibit and show on Saturday, August 2, 2014. The ADM will be hosting the event to Gasser enthusiasts from all over Los Angeles County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both Gasser Magazine and Gasser Wars Magazine with the Mid-America Willys Club will be sponsoring the event with a fantastic display of Gasser racecars.

Watson Adventures’ Secrets of the Huntington Library Scavenger Hunt

Huntington Library

1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, 91108

11:00am to 1:00pm

Put the Hunt in the Huntington Library on a unique scavenger hunt for adults!
No, don’t call it a library. Call it an eye-popping mansion filled with wonders! Call it a treasure house of amazing art! Call it a botanical garden of spectacular specimens, or a conservatory of exotic micro-climates, with a rainforest and a “Cloud Forest”!
Railroad magnate Henry E. Huntington spared no expense in creating his personal Eden, and we’ve created a hunt that reveals all of its quirks and secrets, from art masterpieces (hello, Blue Boy and Pinkie!) to nature’s marvels (no thanks, orchid that mimics a fly’s hairy abdomen!).
If you haven’t been to the Huntington Library near Pasadena, then it’s time you treat yourself to an incredible adventure. Price includes venue admission. Advance purchase is required via our website. Questions? Call 877-9GO-HUNT.

Ecotone | Boundaries, Tensions, Integrations
August 2–September 20
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 2, 5:00–8:00pm

On August 2, Venice Arts Gallery will host the Opening Reception for its latest exhibition, “Ecotone: Boundaries, Tensions, Integrations.” The exhibition features seventeen artists, each exploring and documenting in-between or transitional spaces through photography or video. These works, investigating interactions caused by human migration or displacement, urban encroachments onto nature, or environmental strain, question how we relate to borders and places of transience, and what exists in these ambiguous spaces.
