Explore the uniquely diverse cuisine of Los Angeles, one of the most multicultural (and most delicious) cities in the world through lectures and tasting.
Listen as local chefs and food writers discuss the various immigrant patterns and ethnic communities throughout the city, from its early history to today, and how they affect local cuisine. Then learn about and taste delectable dishes from Indian, Korean, and Thai cuisine.
August 11: Thai cuisine—Chef Jet Tila, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, helped launch Modern Asian kitchen, a fast-casual Pan-Asian concept with locations nationwide, and is part of the team behind Stir Market, a food hall and restaurant in the Fairfax district. He has made appearances on Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Iron Chef America.

Filipino food is known for its adobos, fried seafood and vinegar-laden dishes with flavors that are bold, bright, savory and, at times, funky. It could be said that it is not a cuisine the general population, even in a food-adventurous city like Los Angeles, explores with abandon. But a young Filipino chef and his brother are looking to change all that.
Through October 30th, 2015, the Filipino inspired pop-up and restaurant project, LASA, will be offering their take on this up-and-coming ethnic cuisine the last Friday of the month at the beautiful bar/restaurant and private event venue, Elysian. Reservations are recommended. Spots can be reserved on Open Table or by calling 323-522-6625. Walk-ins are welcomed and seated on a first come first serve basis.
