Bleu, helped launch Modern Asian kitchen, a fast-casual Pan-Asian concept with locations nationwide, and is part of the team behind Stir Market, a food hall and restaurant in the Fairfax district. He has made appearances on Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Iron Chef America.

Tasting Table's #LobsterRumble LA

Tickets are on sale now for Tasting Table’s annual #LobsterRumble, returning to Los Angeles on August 13, 2015. Now in its third year, the #LobsterRumble is the ultimate lobster roll showdown with all-you-can-eat lobster rolls from contenders across the country, with each vying to be crowned fan favorite.

1,200 lobster-loving guests will get to taste and vote their way through 17 of America’s top lobster rolls, and yes -- that means 17 rolls with your name on them.

Here’s a taste of the contenders and lobster rolls competing this year:

Ironside Fish & Oyster (San Diego) - Butter-poached Maine lobster served with brown butter aioli on a crispy butter & cream cheese roll

Knuckle & Claw (Los Angeles) -  A fresh Rockenwagner Parker Roll stuffed with a 1/4 pound of fresh knuckle & claw lobster meat, flown in overnight from the cold waters of Maine. A light smear of mayonnaise, a squirt of butter, a squeeze of lemon, topped with extra delicious secret seasoning.

Cousins Maine Lobster (Los Angeles) - Fresh Maine claw, knuckle and tail meat, flown directly from Maine. Sautéed in butter, drawn lemon-butter drizzled on top, and served in  toasted golden brown, Maine, split-top buns.  

Slapfish (Huntington Beach) - 100% pure New England lobster tossed in warm butter, mayo and lemon and packed into a buttery roll.

Desserts will be provided by six local purveyors, including Drive Me Cookie and Sprinkles Cupcakes, and to wash it all down, Stella Artois beers, premium wines and custom cocktails will be pouring at the open bars.

Lucques’ All-American Rib Fest 2015

Chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner Caroline Styne announce Sunday, August 16, 2015 for their 15th annual summer Rib Fest at Lucques, featuring a feast of slow-cooked ribs, hot wings, and sides that has become a Lucques tradition since 2000.   A week of preparation goes into the smoking of pork, beef and lamb ribs, spreading the lure of wood smoke throughout the neighborhood and attracting a growing swell of Rib Fest Groupies for the annual BBQ celebration.

The family style menu, priced at $55 per guest, features generous portions of Saint Louis Style Pork Ribs; Braised Beef Back Ribs; Spicy Lamb Spare Ribs and“Too-Hot-To-Handle” Chicken Wings. Sides of Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Long-Cooked Collard Greens, Buttered Corn-on-the-Cob, Tomato-Watermelon Saladand Grilled Cornbread and Wonder Bread are included along with a mouth watering Peach Cobbler with Strawberries and Buttermilk Ice Cream. Rib Fest at Lucques begins at 12:00 noon and serves continuously until 9:00 p.m. Rib Fest is a ticketed event only; reservations can be made online with RESY or by calling the restaurant at 323.655.6277

The fifth annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival, presented with founding partners FOOD & WINE and Lexus, is set to feature three-nights and four-days of unrivalled tastings, dinners, lunches, seminars, book signings, cooking demonstrations, and special events, showcasing the finest in food and drink culture.

In past years, the star-studded lineup has included celebrated chefs such as Daniel Boulud, Curtis Stone, Giada De Laurentiis, Rick Bayless, Wolfgang Puck, Nancy Silverton, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Thomas Keller, Roy Choi, Michael Chiarello, Michael Voltaggio, Robert Irvine, Guy Fieri, Fabio Viviani, and Graham Elliot, as well as local favorites including Tim Hollingsworth, Michael Cimarusti, Suzanne Goin, Ludo Lefebvre, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, Jessica Koslow, Ari Taymor, Ori Menashe, Josef Centeno, Sang Yoon, Ben Ford, and Ray Garcia, to name a few.

Filipino food‹LASA at elysian

Filipino food is known for its adobos, fried seafood and vinegar-laden dishes with flavors that are bold, bright, savory and, at times, funky. It could be said that it is not a cuisine the general population, even in a food-adventurous city like Los Angeles, explores with abandon. But a young Filipino chef and his brother are looking to change all that.

Through October 30th, 2015, the Filipino inspired pop-up and restaurant project, LASA, will be offering their take on this up-and-coming ethnic cuisine the last Friday of the month at the beautiful bar/restaurant and private event venue, Elysian.
