Pasadena’s restaurant community opens its doors to guests from throughout Southern California for the fourth Pasadena Restaurant Week. The Pasadena Chamber is sponsoring the event which takes place from Sunday, April 27th through Friday, May 2nd.

Taste the best Pasadena has to offer at unbeatable prices. Pasadena Restaurant Week offers menus and venues to suit every appetite, budget and craving.

Pasadena Restaurant Week is a citywide event featuring the cuisine of many of Pasadena’s top dining establishments. Participating restaurants will offer fixed price dinner and/or lunch menu items for visitors. Dinners will be three-course meals while lunches will consist of two-courses. Depending on the venue and menu offered, meals will be priced at either $26, $35 or $44 for dinner or $15, $20 or $25 for lunch. (Some prices may vary.) Alcoholic beverages, gratuity and tax are not included in the price unless specified by the individual restaurants in advance.

Pasadena Restaurant Week showcases Pasadena as a restaurant destination. The week-long dining event reminds Southern California that our local restaurants offer dining experiences to satisfy all tastes at every price range. Chefs and restaurateurs are offering their finest lunch and dinner dishes at special prices throughout the week.

Participating restaurants will be preparing special meals at extraordinary introductory prices. Two course lunch meals are available at $15, $20 or $25 depending on the restaurant. A three course fixed price dinner is available at $26, $35 or $44. Some participants will offer a special deal or discount instead of the fixed price menu. (All prices are subject to change, as not all venues can provide meals at these prices.)

Egg Menu "Hatching" at Ray's & Stark Bar

Although there seems to be a shortage of eggs after the beloved Easter egg hunts, Ray’s and Stark Bar have patrons covered with the grand “hatching” debut of an egg menu to celebrate National Egg Month this May. Every Monday, beginning April 21, 2014 through the end of May, diners can enjoy a variety of unique “breakfast for dinner” egg dishes by Executive Chef Kris Morningstar. Indulge in a variety of egg preparations from this ordinary but diverse ingredient including poached and soft-boiled, to the base of the silkiest housemade pasta and light, grain-less custards. All paired with one-of-a-kind egg white cocktails from Stark Bar.

Menu highlights include House Egg Spaghetti with sea urchin, bottarga, scallions, chile and garum; Green Eggs and Ham with slow cooked Jidori egg, green garlic espuma, Benton’s ham and crispy potatoes; and Sweet Egg Custard with asparagus, smoked steelhead roe and crunchy buckwheat. Meanwhile, Stark Bar offers a variety of innovative egg white cocktails such as The Rocktail with Campo de Encanto Pisco, chamomile syrup, fresh lemon juice, egg white, fennel pollen; and the Al Pepino with Altos Tequila Plata, cucumber, fresh lime juice and egg white.

After a multi-million Hollywood-style make-over, the iconic Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel in Studio City is set to launch the San Fernando Valley’s only Night Market. Turn up the music and turn down the sun… the Sportsmen’s Lodge First Thursday’s Night Market has arrived just in time to hit the Studio City summer calendars.  Launching on May 1, and continuing through October (6/5, 7/3, 8/7, 9/4, 10/2) on the first Thursday of the month, 50 vendors and 10 food trucks will transform the spacious front lot of the newly re-modeled Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel into a concentrated mecca of clothing, craft, and greasy foodie satisfaction. 

Hosted by the Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel and produced by LA Event Co, the Sportsmen’s Lodge First Thursdays Night Market invites all Angelenos to engage this free valley bazaar from 3:00p.m. - 9:00p.m.  As dusk descends a DJ will spin a funky web of eclecticism for the crowd of visitors, merchants, and chefs. The grubbing options will be many, as the fleet of food trucks will include:

For people of-age that might be thirsty for a proper drink, the hotel is setting up an outdoor bar/lounge in the market and will also launch a poolside happy hour.  Additionally, the hotel’s iconic Patio Café (recently transformed into a modern, sleek American café) will be firing up its new menu and feature special offers for all Night Market-goers seeking a sit-down dinner before, during or after the festivities.  For those looking to extend their good time, enjoy the new rooms and make a splash in the pool, the Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel will offer a 20% discount to all market-goers each Thursday night (based on availability) simply by booking at www.SportsmensLodge.com and typing in special code: MARKET.

Rows of night market merchants will be offering a motley collection of interesting products. While the vendor list is still being trimmed by LA Event Co’s Phillip Dane, the ranks will include Rustic Threads, Detroit Trash, and Treehaus. Dane, hot off producing the Downtown Flea, first made his stamp on LA markets with the Fairfax Flea, which still sets up every Saturday at the corner of Fairfax and Melrose.
