Club Culinaire 33rd Annual Picnic des Chefs

Vasa Park

2854 Triunfo Canyon Road, Agoura Hills, 91301

11:30am to 4:30pm

LA’s top chefs, members of the Club Culinaire, will create their favorite picnic dishes. They will cook up over 700 lb of meat, poultry and fish, 500 lb of vegetables, 200 lb of cheese and 500 baguettes, 50 artisan breads and much more.  More than wineries will be pouring their favorite selections. The party starts at 11:30am until 4:30pm.
The event is extremely kid-friendly (including a moon bounce paradise, heated swimming pool with a giant waterslide, rock climbing wall, drawing competition, and games).  Adults can play pétaque, soccer, volleyball and badminton. Raffle prizes include two roundtrip tickets to Paris on Air Tahiti Nui, a stay at Villa Deveena in Costa Rica, kitchen utensils, gourmet dinners, and shopping certificates. Musical entertainment will be provided by a French DJ.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Concern Foundation and the HOPE Program at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
 Ticket price is inclusive of all food, beverages, entertainment and parking
$60 for adults, $20 for kids 10-21, free for kids under 10 (when accompanied by a paying adult)

EGPAF's 24th Annual "A Time for Heroes" Event

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) will host its 24th annual “A Time for Heroes” event. The star-studded occasion brings together families, celebrities, donors, and other supporters from across the country to prevent new HIV infections in babies, provide lifesaving treatments to HIV-positive mothers, and support pediatric AIDS research.

“A Time for Heroes” is a celebrity celebration jam-packed with live entertainment, music, and a host of activities for children and teens. This year’s activities include a skateboard demo area, 4-way trampoline, micro-race track, sports zone, photo booth, and creative arts and crafts. EGPAF is calling on the community to “Join Us. Inspire Others.” and participate in the fight to achieve an AIDS-free generation.

Reel to Reel: Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me

Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me is a feature-length documentary about the legendary Memphis band Big Star. While mainstream success eluded them, Big Star’s three albums have become critically lauded touchstones of the rock music canon. A seminal band in the history of alternative music, Big Star has been cited as an influence by artists including REM, The Replacements, Belle & Sebastian, Elliot Smith and Flaming Lips, to name just a few. With never-before-seen footage and photos of the band, in-depth interviews and a rousing musical tribute by the bands they inspired, Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me is a story of artistic and musical salvation.
