Since 1996, both locals and cruise-ship tourists from the nearby Port of Los Angeles have flocked to the area to experience San Pedro’s tight-knit artists’ community, impromptu street performances and conversation-worthy art — all classic ingredients for a great art walk. The tour's 30-odd participating galleries include contemporary and textile art.

Metro's free spring art tours, Metro Art Moves, will depart Union Station at 5:30 p.m. on the first Thursdays of February, March and April 2014. The first tour will take place Thursday, February 6. Focused on three downtown stations, the guided, artist-led tours provide unique experiences with Metro's diverse art collection.
The spring tours will meet at the Union Station information kiosk just inside the Alameda Street entrance. Tours will end at 7th St/Metro Center Station, near several 213 Nightlife dining destinations. Tour participants can save 15% on food at Casey's Irish Pub, Cole's French Dip and Ebanos Crossing by showing their valid TAP cards to the server when ordering.
Tours take place on the first Thursdays of the month: February 6, March 6 and April 3, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Tours begin at Union Station and end at 7th St/Metro Center Station.
The tours are approximately 90% walking; there are elevators and escalators in all of the stations.
Public restrooms are available at Union Station.
