Touch of Evil at Grand Central Market and the Million Dollar Theatre

Dinner and a movie goes noir when Grand Central Market stays open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 for a special screening of Orson Welles' crime thriller, Touch of Evil, next door at The Million Dollar Theatre.  The film opens with a three-minute, twenty-second tracking shot widely considered by critics as one of the greatest long takes in cinema history.  The stellar cast includes Charlton Heston, Janet Leigh, Marlene Dietrich, Akim Tamiroff and Welles.

Tickets are available at http://touchofevil.bpt.meParking will be available at the adjacent Grand Central Parking structure, 308 S. Hill St. Touch of Evil screens at 8:00 p.m.

The 1958 Universal classic, filmed on location in vintage Venice Beach, will be the first film shown in the three-part noir series curated by Vintage Los Angeles at the landmark Million Dollar Theatre, the first movie palace built by Sid Grauman. Before the show, select vendors will be open late, inviting moviegoers to enjoy the flavors and history next door at the iconic Grand Central Market - bringing Angelenos together through food since 1917.

Participating eateries include Ana Maria's, Belcampo Meat Co., Bento Ya, Berlin Currywurst, Jose Chiquito, Jose's Ice Cream, La Huerta, Lupita's Seafood, Roast To Go and Sarita's Pupuseria.

Pasadena’s restaurant community opens its doors to guests from throughout Southern California for the fourth Pasadena Restaurant Week. The Pasadena Chamber is sponsoring the event which takes place from Sunday, April 27th through Friday, May 2nd.

Every Monday, beginning April 21, 2014 through the end of May, diners can enjoy a variety of unique “breakfast for dinner” egg dishes by Executive Chef Kris Morningstar. Indulge in a variety of egg preparations from this ordinary but diverse ingredient including poached and soft-boiled, to the base of the silkiest housemade pasta and light, grain-less custards.
