German restaurant and beer garden, Wirtshaus, is celebrating Easter the German way with a special breakfast-and-beer event, "Kegs and Easter Eggs (and Sausage)", on Saturday, April 19, 2014.

Wirtshaus' "Kegs and Easter Eggs (and Sausage)" special will kick off at 11:00 AM on April 19, and run through 3:00 PM. Just $27.00 per person will land each guest an egg dish (eggs prepared to their liking), one of Wirtshaus' famous sausages, a side of fried potatoes, and all-you-can-drink draft beer until 3:00 PM, from a selection of two or three of Wirtshaus' most popular German beers.

Executive Chef Chuck Abair derives culinary inspiration from the abundance of California spring produce such as asparagus, beets, fennel, and fava beans in addition to a selection of sustainable seafood sourced from Dawnfresh Farms. Included in the price of the prix-fixe menu is a choice of sparkling wine, cider, mimosas, and Bloody Marys. The restaurant’s Easter Brunch menu spotlights a taste of the Mediterranean with the following dishes:

Beet & Burrata Salad with lamb’s lettuce, marcona almonds, and jerez vinaigrette

Grilled Asparagus Salad with wild mushrooms, fried egg, shaved parmesan, and black truffle vinaigrette   

Short Rib Hash with roasted red potatoes, shallots, garlic, spinach, and fried eggs   

Eggs Norwegian with house cured salmon, poached eggs, brioche, arugula salad, and hollandaise

THE PIKEY will celebrate the Spring holiday with Easter Brunch and Dinner, served all day on Sunday, April 20, 2014.  The Pikey’s Easter specials of Hot Cross Buns; Lamb Tongue Hash with Poached Eggs and Grilled Chili; Soft Boiled Eggs with Mustard Greens and Hash Browns; and Roasted Ham with Pea Pudding and Shredded Potatoes are served in addition Chef Johnson’s signature brunch menu  which includes Crumpets with Honeycomb & Clotted Cream; Curry on Toast with a Fried Duck Egg;  and Slow Roasted Pork Belly Sandwich with Horseradish Cream, Cornichons,Watercress & Chips.

For dinner, The Pikey will be serving an Easter Baked Ham and Roasted Lamb, both served with signature Roasted Duck Fat Potatoes, Market Vegetables, Stuffing and Yorkshire Pudding. Pricing for the dinner specials is $22 per person.

The popular Gastropub menu of snacks, small and large plates will also be available at dinner to be enjoyed with THE PIKEY’s house red or white wine at $5 a glass or $20 a bottle or the one of the restaurant’s expertly mixed cocktails.
