Join us for a Sneak Preview of the FOX animated series, Bordertown, followed by a Q&A with Consulting Producer and Writer Lalo Alcaraz and Supervising Producer and Writer Valentina Garza, moderated by Screenwriter and Casa 0101 Artistic Director Josefina Lopez. One night only!
From FAMILY GUY’s Mark Hentemann and Seth MacFarlane comes BORDERTOWN, a new animated comedy about two families living in a Southwest desert town on the U.S. - Mexico border. It takes a satirical look at the cultural shifts occurring in America, where the U.S. Census forecasts that by 2017, ethnic minorities will become the majority. Set against this increasingly diverse backdrop, the series explores family, politics and everything in between with a cross-cultural wink. - See more at: http://www.fox.com/bordertown#sthash.5EKpH8Su.dpuf

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE NOW will feature all new original works from MR Herget’s latest series. This is his first California SOLO show and follows his successful 2014 Gregg Shienbaum Fine Art debut, WE ARE KINGS in Miami, Florida. Patrons can expect an immersive show full of high-energy contemporary oil paintings: transporting viewers into the mind of a young and ambitious artist.
“Each piece is a journey in-and-of itself. I’m constantly trying to take it somewhere that I haven’t been before. The way I paint is kind of a metaphor for who I am, and why I’m here. It’s not about taking it to a point where you can see something; it’s about bringing it to a place where you can feel something. We all have a space suit on; whether it sits in the closet or goes to the moon is a choice we get to make. It’s a constant mission of finding ourselves. I think that pursuit is nurtured by consistently pushing ourselves further than we did yesterday. That’s how we change, grow, and evolve. That’s what these paintings are about. It’s pretty simple, but means a lot to me.”
