John and Adriene will present an entertaining slide show of restaurant and vintage neon sign images from their Southern California Eats books (including Damon's and The Great White Hut in Glendale). They will wrap up with a sneak preview of their forthcoming "Out and About" Los Angeles -- a successor to the beautifully illustrated "Out and About Southern California" -- which will include highlights from the grand opening of Glendale's new Museum of Neon Art.
John Eng is a writer, director, designer, and photographer living a "1960s Modern" life. A preservationist and photographer, Adriene Biondo worked with the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Conservancy to create a historic district for the 1963-64 Balboa Highlands Eichler tract, now an officially designated Historic Preservation Overlay Zone. She currently serves on the board of the Museum of Neon Art. They are the authors of the popular books Southern California Eats 1 & 2 and Modern Tract Homes of Los Angeles.
