Singer and keyboardist Nicholas Petricca formed Walk The Moon in 2008 in Cincinnati, OH. He cycled through a couple different lineups before finding the perfect roster with bassist Kevin Ray, drummer Sean Waugaman, and guitarist Eli Maiman. In 2010 the quartet independently released their debut album I want! I want!, which spawned breakout single "Anna Sun", a celebratory anthem that was named the song of the summer by Amazon, Seventeen, Esquire, and MTV. In 2011 they inked a deal with RCA Records and made their major label debut with 2012's Walk The Moon, which included many songs off I want! I want! as well as several new tracks. They amassed a huge fanbase with tours alongside indie rock heavyweights fun., Grouplove, Young The Giant, and Kaiser Chiefs, as well as major festival appearances at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. The band ended 2014 on a high note by releasing their sophomore album Talking Is Hard, which boasts production by Tim Pagnotta (Tokyo Police Club, Neon Trees) and includes the infectious singles "Shut Up + Dance" and "Different Colors".
