Dead Sea Scrolls: The Exhibition March 10 - September 7, 2015. Come discover the most significant archaeological find of the last century—the Dead Sea Scrolls. The California Science Center in cooperation with the Israel Antiquities Authority is proud to present the largest Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition ever mounted outside of Israel, featuring over 600 ancient artifacts on display. This special exhibition explores the science and significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls, manuscripts written, and hidden in caves 2000 years ago and not discovered until 1947. The exhibition also features sections from 10 selections of the Dead Sea Scrolls, more than half never seen before in the U.S., including parts of the oldest known copies of the Hebrew Bible, also known as the Old Testament. J.M.W. Turner: Painting Set Free February 24 - May 24. Heralded as "the man who invented modern painting" by Jonathan Jones of The Guardian, J. M. W. Turner experienced a creative awakening in the last years of his life. Demonstrating ongoing radicalism of technique and original subject matter, the works in J. M. W. Turner: Painting Set Free show the artist's masterful depictions of his favorite subjects—the sea, Venice, and current events—through his energetic brushstrokes and extraordinary attention to light and color. Bringing together over sixty key oil paintings and watercolors, this major international loan exhibition is the first on the West Coast devoted to one of Britain's greatest and best-loved painters. The exhibition was organized by Tate Britain in association with the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. It is supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and Humanities.

Mexico: Fantastic Identity, curated by Emma Cecilia García Krinsky, is an exhibition of over 60 works that provides viewers a unique platform from which to embark on a journey through the various art movements that were important in Mexico during the twentieth century.
