Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)www.lawa.org/laxLAX is the fifth busiest passenger airport in the world, with more than 55 million people passing through every year. Approximately 80 passenger carriers (including all major airlines) serve LAX. LAX has nine passenger terminals connected by a U-shaped, two-level roadway. Domestic flights arrive and depart from Terminals 1-8 All international flights arrive and depart from the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Curbside baggage check-in is available on the upper departure level. Baggage claim is on the lower level. A vast variety of restaurants, cocktail lounges, gift shops, newsstands, restrooms, public telephones, business centers and duty free shops for international flights offer convenient services within the airport. Parking Among the modes of transportation available at LAX are airport bus service, door-to-door shuttle van service, local bus lines, light rail, rental cars and taxicabs. A free, frequent shuttle bus connects LAX with Metro Transit Authority's Green Line Light Rail. Shuttle service is provided at no charge for passengers making connecting flights between terminal buildings. FlyAway FlyAway departs from Union Station and LAX every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., and each hour from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. FlyAway buses run 24 hours a day. From the San Fernando Valley, the FlyAway service runs between VNY and LAX 24 hours a day, with 30-minute departures between 4:45 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. and hourly service from midnight to 4:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.lawa.org/flyaway.
