Role Summary
The Manager, International Tourism is responsible for promoting Los Angeles as a premier travel destination to key international markets.  Responsibilities include marketing support for international offices, the coordination of travel trade FAM programs, and travel trade development.  This particular position will have an emphasis on China, which is now the #1 overseas market to Los Angeles

The Manager, International Tourism will be based in Los Angeles and work in tandem with the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board China team.  To this end, knowledge of Los Angeles and an understanding of inbound tourism from China are desired.  Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required.  

Key Responsibilities
•    Help to develop and execute a program of work for the China market in conjunction with the China-based team
•    Provide in-market support for designated LATCB international offices and representatives
•    Coordinate travel trade FAM programs
•    Assist with the coordination of trade shows and events
•    Conduct sales calls on local receptives and tour operators
•    Leverage industry association opportunities
•    Assist in the development of training and educational programs for the travel trade
•    Represent Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board at designated events and activities
•    Develop and maintain tourism database for respective markets

Key Skills/Knowledge
•    3-5 years international tourism or travel industry experience required
•    Fluency in Mandarin, both written and oral
•    Solid understanding of Los Angeles and all it offers to visitors
•    Strong communication and public speaking skills
•    Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
•    Strong attention to detail and deadlines
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
•    Flexible work schedule (may include evenings and weekends)
•    Job may require travel
