Benjamin Franklin famously wrote, “...in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” Tax Day has inevitably arrived once again, and to help you enjoy your refund or decompress from the stress, restaurants and bars across Los Angeles are featuring Tax Day drink specials on Monday, April 15.
1933 Group Specials
An annual Tax Day tradition, several 1933 Group bars are featuring drink specials (while supplies last), including $1 Old Fashioneds from 5-8 p.m. at Bigfoot Lodge and Bigfoot West, Harlowe, Highland Park Bowl, Oldfield's Liquor Room, Sassafras Saloon, and Thirsty Crow; $1 Moscow Mules at Idle Hour (4-7pm), and $1 Tequila Presses & Mexi Mules at La Cuevita (5-8pm).
District at The Bloc
Located at The Bloc in Downtown L.A., District encourages Angelenos to spend their tax refunds and support local wineries this year by extending its late-night special (typically available Sunday - Wednesday, 9pm-close) on half-off all California wine bottles ALL DAY on April 15.
Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken
With locations in Downtown L.A. and now in Santa Monica, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will be offering a bit of comfort on Tax Day. A dozen Mini Doughnuts will be available for $10.99, featuring signature doughnuts like Crème Brûlée, PB&J, Maple Bacon, and Vanilla. And for extra convenience, the DTLA location offers Curbside Pickup.
Big Bar
Winter is here! OK, Big Bar's Game of Thrones cocktail menu isn't an actual Tax Day special. But themed drinks like the Onion Night (Fords Gin, dry vermouth, onion-infused Dirty Sue bitters, pickled onion) will remind you on April 15 that "a Lannister always pays his debts."
Jane Q - Kimpton Everly Hotel
Located at the Kimpton Everly Hotel in Hollywood, Jane Q will be offering $10.40 pizza & draft beer on Tax Day.

Visit Wood & Water in Sherman Oaks on Tax Day and enjoy all night Happy Hour specials on drinks at the bar. Sip $8 signature cocktails and house wine and beer starting at $5.
Saddle Peak Lodge
Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains above Malibu, Saddle Peak Lodge is a warm, rustic retreat located along a creek that runs from Las Virgenes Canyon to the Pacific Ocean.
From 5-10pm, Saddle Peak Lodge is offering diners a Tax Day break - enjoy exotic dishes like New Zealand elk, Tennessee emu, or the Chef's Game Trio, and the restaurant will take care of the sales tax on your bill.
