Port of Los Angeles is a Popular Stop on the World Cruise Circuit

As home of the largest Pacific coast port, the city of Los Angeles, with its international lineup of internationally renowned attractions from Universal Studios to Rodeo Drive, has become a prime port of call during the 2011 and 2012 grand voyages of the world’s most luxurious cruise ships.

On Dec. 5, 2011, the Port of Los Angeles World Cruise Center will welcome the 1,380-passenger MS Amsterdam, the flagship of Holland America Line’s fleet, as the final call on its 70-day Grand Asia & Australia cruise to Russia, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Australia, Fiji and Hawaii. Oceania Cruises’ flagship, the 340-suite Regatta, begins a luxury 21-day “Polynesian Paradise” cruise from Los Angeles on Dec. 16, 2011 bound for multiple stops in Hawaii and French Polynesia.

Cunard Cruise Line is once again home porting the sumptuous 2,000-passenger Queen Victoria at the World Cruise Center beginning Dec. 21, 2011 for three 14- and 15-day Hawaii and Panama Canal cruises. On Feb. 28, 2012 Queen Victoria will embark from LA on a 25-day Panama Canal Treasures II voyage through the Panama Canal, across the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean to South Hampton England.

The ultra-luxe, 450-passenger Seabourn Odyssey arrives at the Port of Los Angeles on Jan. 5, 2012, as part of two Seabourn Grand Cruises. LA is the final destination on its 37-day Grand American Odyssey voyage originating in Rome, Italy; and Los Angeles also serves as the home port for the Circle Pacific portion of the Seabourn Odyssey’s 76-day Grand Voyage, which originates in Fort Lauderdale and sails from Los Angeles to French Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Kiribati, Hawaii, arriving back in LA on March 5, 2012.

Los Angeles will also serve as the home port to Crystal Cruises’ 2012 World Cruise, Jan. 18 – April 21, 2012, on the lavish, 1,070-passenger Crystal Serenity. The 94-day itinerary includes the South Pacific, Australia, Southeast Asia, Russia and Canada.
